El Ciclo de magníficats del compositor Rodrigo de Ceballos es un tesoro musical del renacimiento español que se encuentra completo solamente en el Archivo musical de la Catedral de Bogotá, Colombia. A pesar de que Ceballos nunca viajó al Nuevo Mundo, su música fue ejecutada a lo largo de varios siglos en la Catedral y por esta razón sobrevive de forma completa únicamente allí. La presente transcripción a notación moderna está basada en los manuscritos existentes en la Catedral y se presenta con rigor editorial para preservar la autenticidad de las fuentes; adicionalmente incluye las fórmulas gregorianas para entonar los versos pares que se alternan con los versos impares compuestos en estilo polifónico por el autor.

The notion of self has become crucial for contemporary cultural studies in its examination identities. Identities are often conceptualized as an engagement of the individual’s self—their condition of being a person—with broader cul-tural cons tructs. However, in addition to being culturally situated, the constitution of selves may be conceived of through identity-construction phenomena whereby individuals’ subjectivities take up, or resist, the subject posi-tions made available in discursive practices. Selves—the notion of ‘Who and I?’—may only be understood as resulting from power-based discourses and cultural practices.
