Una carta de amor a la diversidad lingüística de nuestro país. En los años del franquismo, en una parroquia asturiana, el maestro, castellanohablante, enseña las vocales a sus alumnos. En la pizarra, dibuja al lado de un abanico una a: «es la a de...». Todos gritan al unísono: «¡a d'abanicu!». Del abanico al abanicu, el pecado parece menor. Al llegar la siguiente vocal, la e emerge junto a un erizo en la pizarra. Y cuando el maestro repite: «es la e de...», todos replican: «¡ye la e de curcuspín!». Y es que los erizos normativos, por mucho que ocupen pizarras y documentos oficiales, son pocos en comparación con los curcuspines y su asamblea de nombres. Este segundo volumen de Cien años de poesía es dedicado a las «otras» literaturas peninsulares. Quiere servir de puente entre las poesías en catalán, gallego y vasco y la lírica en castellano. Cada contribuyente ha seleccionado un poema representativo de un poeta elegido y nos acerca a su producción mediante la traducción del texto al castellano, en muchas casos, inédita hasta el presente. Las aproximaciones a la obra de los y las grandes poetas aquí antologados y analizados son de índole plural y procedencias diversas. No sólo, y en sentido estrictamente geográfico, porque los estudios procedan de ambos lados del Atlántico, sino y más relevante, porque se dan también cita diversos métodos de análisis y aproximación a la literatura y a la cultura.

This collection of essays aims to contribute to ongoing debates in Translation Studies, with a particular but not exclusive focus on literary translation. It extends this concern into areas that have enjoyed a renewed attention showcasing and discussing the impact of such processes mostly on literature, and it will enable and simultaneously contest the literary canon, gender and genres, text types with their own discriminations and hierarchies, the connection between translation and discourse(s), the institutional and scholarly dynamics of academic power, or even some key concepts in Translation Studies. The canon is inclusive and accepts, welcomes and embraces new authors and ideas, especially if they are founded upon the resources of rewriting and translation. The transcendence of any work surpasses time and borders as long as it relies on the willingness to accept the other and their diverse forms of expression.

España es un estado plurilingüe integrado por diversas lenguas autóctonas, además del español, que poseen una cultura distintiva y una rica tradición literaria: el asturiano, el catalán, el euskera o el gallego. Una parte de los habitantes de la península y sus islas, pues, son bilingües, y cuando se expresan literariamente presentan perfiles distintos: hablantes bilingües que escriben en una sola de las lenguas que conocen, que escriben textos diferentes (o no) en las dos lenguas que hablan y que se autotraducen de un idioma a otro. ‘Escribir con dos voces’ intenta observar cómo la elección de una lengua conocida (y no otra) influye en la creación de los escritores que dominan una lengua ibérica en contacto con otra de jerarquía superior (por ejemplo, el castellano respecto a los demás idiomas con los que coexiste). As is well known, César Aira (Argentina 1949) is considered one of the most eminent contemporary writers. What is less known is that, across twenty-four novels and short stories, as well as a theatre play, he imagines himself living implausible and even impossible adventures. In Spanish, theorists refer to these creative self-narratives as autofabulaciones, and Aira’s record in this realm makes him one of the most prolific autofabuladores in the world. Why does he immerse himself in so many imaginary lives? Es una recopilación de voces dispersas, un balance de versos aventados en el bieldo de nuestro tiempo.
